Event Summary

Join us on Friday November 8th in Grande Prairie, as we honour the service of our regional Indigenous, Inuit and Metis Soldiers, in their tradition

 

Indigenous Veterans Day in Grande Prairie begins at the ANAVETS #38 Community Centre at 10117 – 93 St, next door to Veterans Memorial Gardens, with free coffee and muffins. At 10:30 a.m, a guard will march people to the Afghanistan War Monument.

Representatives from Métis Nation Local 1990, Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, Canadian Aboriginal Veterans Day, the County and City and other community members will give speeches and the traditional two minutes of silence will be held.

There is a luncheon at the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre following the ceremonies.
