Alberta has second highest unemployment rate in Canada

Edmonton and Calgary are the top Canadian cities in unemployment

Alberta has the second worst provincial unemployment rate in Canada after Newfoundland and Labrador.

Stats Canada says unemployment reached 15.5 percent in June.

It marks an 8.8 percent difference from the same time last year.

Nearly 15.7 percent of the Edmonton workforce is unemployed and 15.6 percent of the Calgary workforce.

In May, their unemployment rates were 13.6 and 13.4 percent respectively.
