Athabasca RCMP arrest two people

RCMP crews were dealing with a stolen vehicle

On July 8th at 3pm, Athabasca RCMP were conducting scene security in relation to another file and spotted a possible stolen vehicle.

The suspect vehicle saw the police and hit the breaks swerving to another direction. Police later located the vehicle and tried to stop it however the driver kept going.

A spike belt was then deployed on a rural road south of Athabasca and the driver was arrested along with the female passenger.

The vehicle was indeed stolen.

30 year old Robert William Lysohirka was charged with flight from police and possession of stolen property, while the 34 year old female was arrested facing the same charges.

Both were released with later court dates.
