Métis Week is an opportunity for the Métis people in Alberta to share their stories, history, and culture with people across the province.







Tuesday, November 12

Métis Week Proclamation and Flag Raising Ceremony

The Métis Nation of Alberta and the City of Edmonton will host a proclamation and a flag raising ceremony in honour of Métis Week.
11 am to 1:00 pm – at City Hall, 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square in Edmonton.
Enjoy the cultural celebration with music and entertainment, concluding with a light lunch.


Tuesday, November 12

Edmonton’s High Level Bridge will be lit after sunset, with Métis colours, blue and white, to celebrate Métis Week. Constable Ezio Farone Park is a great location to take in the view located at 11004 97 Avenue.


Wednesday, November 13

Honouring our Métis leaders and Elders will take place at Canada Place 9700 Jasper Avenue
9 am to 3:30 pm – Remembering Significant Métis Historical Leaders of our Past, Indigenous Cultural Centre, 120 Canada Place 9700 Jasper Avenue
4 pm to 5:30 pm – Afternoon tea with Elders at the Renaissance Tower, 9505 105 Avenue


Thursday, November 14

6 pm – Author Night – Theo Fluery, The Foundary Room, 12021 102 Avenue


Friday, November 15

Tall Tales and Open Mic
7:00 pm – at Chateau Louis 11727 Kingsway Avenue


Saturday, November 16

11 am – Louis Riel Commemorative Ceremony at the Alberta Legislature
5:30 pm – Métis Week Gala, Edmonton Inn and Conference Centre, 11727 Kingsway Avenue

5:30 pm – Youth talent show and singing Jamboree/Dance, Portage College gym, 9531 94 Avenue


Friday, November 16

1 pm to 4 pm – Fiddling Jamboree, Portage College gym, 9531 94 Avenue
