One dead following drowning at Snye river

The incident took place on Friday August 23rd

Last week a Fort McMurray man has drowned in the Snye river after saving his friend.
On August 23rd at around 8am Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of a man drowning in the river.
According to officers the man jumped into the river to help his friend who had grown tired trying to swim to shore.
The man was successful in saving the other involved but drowned himself.
RCMP and Search and Rescue recovered the body Friday afternoon.
