Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Alberta

On November 11th, we pay our respects to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in Canada’s past conflicts.

 

 

1. Beaumont

Remembrance Day Parade & Ceremony details

Members of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry along with the local RCMP, Municipal Enforcement, Beaumont Fire, 287 Beaumont Spitfire Air Cadets and others march to the service site. The service begins at 10:45 am, and a light luncheon is held following the outdoor service.

A Remembrance Day service will be held at City Hall to honour the achievements and sacrifices of those who served our country in times of war and peace.Details

Annual Prayer Walk for Peace & Prayer Service

This Annual Interdenominational Service is sponsored by the Edmonton Ecumenical Peace Network and the Mennonite Central Committee. There will be four stops on the walk with times of remembrance, reflection and prayer led by members of different faith communities. Details

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum, located in the Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre, will hold a brief remembrance ceremony with a traditional minute of silence. Details

Jasper Place Branch #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion Ceremony

Jasper Place Branch #255 of the Royal Canadian Legion holds its annual Remembrance Day service. Please join them in honouring and remembering Canada’s war veterans, peacekeepers and those who have lost their lives serving alongside them. There will be a moment of silence at 11 a.m. in respect for those who lost their lives serving our country. All are invited to attend. West Edmonton Mall stores and services will not open until noon. This event is sponsored by the North West Edmonton Seniors Society and Calder Community League. It is also supported by 3rd Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron. Following the Cenotaph Service and Laying of Wreaths, there will be a reception in the Calder Community League Auditorium where coffee, hot chocolate and treats will be served, with entertainment by the “Calder Cuties” singing songs from World War l & ll.

7. St. Albert

 

Parade Route: The Remembrance Day parade will start on Taché Street across from the St. Albert Royal Canadian Legion at approximately 10:40 AM. It will move along the St. Anne Promenade to St. Anne Street and end at the Cenotaph. The annual service will begin at 11 AM on November 11 at the Cenotaph.
