Treaty 6 Welcome and Thanksgiving Ceremony

As NHL teams begin to arrive in Edmonton, the Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) is welcoming leaders from Treaty Six to ICE District for a very special ceremony on the eve of the NHL Hub City beginning.

The purpose of the ceremony is for Treaty Six to offers prayers for everyone to be safe and healthy, while formally welcoming the NHL and NHLPA to their territory.

Twenty-four teams are scheduled to enter bubbles in the two Canadian cities Sunday.  Players and staff will check in to four hotels in Edmonton where they will be separated from the general public and undergo daily COVID-19 testing.

In exhibition hockey, the Edmonton Oilers battle the Calgary Flames Tuesday night at 8:30.

The best-of-five qualifying round starts next Saturday when the Oilers take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
