Two die after small plane crashes in field southwest of Edmonton

RCMP are holding off on releasing further details until next-of-kin are notified



Two people have died in a plane crash near a community southwest of Edmonton.

RCMP say the Harmon Rocket plane went down in a field near Thorsby on Saturday afternoon.   It was travelling from Rocky Mountain House prior to the crash with two occupants, a 59-year old man who was piloting the plane and a 48-year-old female passenger, both from Rocky Mountain House, according to a release from the RCMP.

Police said the Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
