Ryan Corry, a Calgary man, saw an opportunity for a business as more people are increasing their online shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The opportunity? To showcase Alberta made products!
Corry developed madeinlocalshops.com to cater to Alberta shoppers while also supporting local businesses when they needed it most.
The online marketplace includes items such as clothing, beer and art. Currently, it has products from Edmonton and Calgary but there are already plans to expand to other Alberta communities.
Additionally, Corry is thinking about including a "SkipTheDishes" element where products are delivered to customers door steps as soon as possible.
Local vendors agree that having your products online during a pandemic is a must and they're excited to see what kind of exposure this brings.
