Keith Secola has been playing music since he was a kid, picking up a guitar and learning how to play by himself. He also plays flute.
He is Anishinabe (Ojibwa) from the Mesabi Iron Range country of Northern Minnesota, but currently lives in Arizona where he continues to make music and tour.
Secola is also a seven time Native American Music Award winner, having received numerous awards & nominations in Various categories.
2018 marks 26 years since Secola released his hit song "NDN KARS" which still gets requests on Indigenous Radio, after it was first heard in the score for the movie "Dance Me Outside"
Secola spoke with CJWE and shared what the song has meant to him, and why he feels it still resonates with audiences around the world.
