Kelly Clarkson's most recent release from her Meaning of Life album, "I Don’t Think About You" is the most inspirational thing you'll hear all day. I cane across it while in an irritated mood and at the end of the video, I was fist pumping to the powerful message.
At first, it could be interpreted as a breakup song—but the relateable lyrics pretty much tell the story of breaking away from anyone who might hold power over you. Clarkson is singing about freeing herself from caring about the people who criticize her music, her body, and her life, and WE CAN DO THAT, TOO!
One of the most empowering verses goes like this:
I feel freedom where I stand now
And I feel proud of who I am now
Yeah, I learned a lot along the way
I love the woman that I became
Who hasn't wanted to run, singing in the hills, away from someone who's toxic for you? Turn it up, ladies (and gents!)
