Indigenous poet faces discrimination for calling out NHL-themed totem pole merchandise

Mi'kmaw poet Rebecca Thomas, tweeted a photo of two garden statues designed in the style of totem poles with NHL logos, and asked Lawton's Drugs to remove them.  Lawton's did respond and said the products would be pulled from stores.

Unfortunately Thomas is now receiving a stream of  racist and hateful messages, some saying she is "mentally ill and that Indigenous people are too sensitive"
