Treaty 8 Urban Office VISION AND MISSION!
It is in the true spirit of reconciliation and in appreciation of the Treaty 8 member expectations than an Urban Child & Family Services Office has been created to serve the Treaty 8 Nation’s Children and Families both on and off reserve.
VISION: Each Child, Youth and Family within the Nations of Treaty 8 are healthy, safe and supported to reach their full potential.
The Treaty 8 Elders, for years, if not decades have voiced and continue to voice their aspirations and wish to “Bring our Children home”
MISSION: Providing culturally relevant services so each child, youth and family within the Nations of Treaty 8 are healthy, safe and supported to reach their full potential.
“We, as First Nation People have our own inherent traditional knowledge, our own way of raising our children. I recommend that we work in this process together with the leaders, traditional teachers, Elders and those people who know the child welfare act”
- Elder Alice Martin - Mikisew Cree First Nation
