Young Spirit Drum Group Rocks the Red Carpet at the Grammys!!

Young Spirit Indigenous Drum group was on the RED CARPET at the 2019 Grammy Awards!

Their album, "Mewasinsational - Cree Round Dance songs" was nominated for Best Regional Roots Music Album.

This Multi-Nation Round Dance crew is based out of Frog Lake, Alberta. They feature singers from Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta, Arizona and California.

Their mandate is to keep tradition alive! Co-Founder Jacob Faithful says "Our group's name is Young Spirit for a reason, we collectively have all joined together to stand behind the mandate of keeping our culture alive."

"We want to inspire youth and young people everywhere across the globe to pick up the drum and sing our song," said Faithful. "Stand proud. Be proud of who you are, where you come from and what our people represent."

When the group was asked to do an interview on the Red carpet, they opted to sing a song instead...something never seen on the red carpet!!
