The Edmonton Oilers season kicks off on October 12th against the Vancouver Canucks and there's a buzz with high hopes for the 2023 season.
Tim Shipton expanded his role as EVP, OEG Communications & Gaming in May 2021. He is responsible for all OEG and Katz Group communications, corporate affairs & government relations, the EOCF & hockey programming. He joined the show to discuss a few topics including the prominent rise of head coach Jay Woodcroft.
Shipton went on to discuss some of the things he's most excited about for the upcoming season including the plaza, new food items and new jerseys.
The Oilers have continued to put a major focus on representing Treaty 6 and 8 territory with their land acknowledgement prior to every game and this year will be no different. Shipton explains the importance of having Indigenous representation at their home games and continuing to build relationships.
