UAVS to host Indigenous Alberta Culture Days on September 19 in Red Deer

Alberta Culture Days runs all of September, with more than 100 events happening across the province

 

Red Deer's Urban Aboriginal Voices Society is welcoming the community to a family fun day featuring a variety of Indigenous activities on Sunday September 19.

There will be a tipi and trappers encampment, family dance with the Country Pride Dance Club, plus an art display, dance workshops, agency booths, and a Metis food truck.

The event runs from 1-5 p.m. on Sept. 19 behind Central Middle School and at the nearby Gary W. Harris Celebration Plaza (5205 48 Avenue).

Red Deer sits on the traditional territory of the Cree First Nations, as well as the historical homeland of the Metis.
