Artists and event organizers are invited to register for Alberta Culture Days

Alberta Culture Days is an opportunity to discover, experience and celebrate arts and culture through local events and activities, in person and online across the province.

 

 

The Wood Buffalo Alberta Culture Days planning committee is seeking individuals and organizations to help organize and host fun, family-friendly events that feature the Region’s diverse culture. Submissions must be received by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

 

What is Alberta Culture Days?
Alberta Culture Days is an opportunity to discover, experience and celebrate arts and culture through local events and activities, in person and online across the province.

 

Alberta Culture Days in Wood Buffalo include a series of free events for the entire month of September with opportunities to participate in Alberta’s largest celebration of arts, heritage, diversity and community spirit.

 

Who can register?

Anyone can participate in Alberta Culture Days in Wood Buffalo. This includes individual artists, groups/organizations wanting to host an event and venue operators who want to offer their space. 

 

Event organizers hail from the full spectrum of cultural creators ranging from grassroots community volunteers and independent artists to major arts, culture and heritage institutions.

 

What are the entry requirements?

To participate in Alberta Culture Days in Wood Buffalo, your activity or event must meet the following requirements:

 

  • The arts and culture event is participatory
  • Any proposed events must run at least once from September 1 - 30, 2021
  • It must be free for the public to attend.

 

Is there funding available?
There are two funding opportunities available for organizers of Alberta Culture Days events:

  • Provincial Alberta Culture Days Grant application – Arts Council Wood Buffalo will submit a group application for this opportunity on behalf of event organizers.
  • Funding provided by Arts Council Wood Buffalo (through the Community Investment Program) – To be considered for this opportunity, organizers must submit their funding request through the registration process and include a detailed description of the funding requirement.
