Calgary Hitmen show off "Every Child Matters" Jersey

“I’m so proud of the jersey and what the game has turned into, all aspects, I always say it’s more than just a hockey game,” - Siksika Health CEO, Dr. Tyler White.

The Calgary Hitmen, in partnership with Siksika Health Services, unveiled new jersey design to be worn at the upcoming “Every Child Matters” game on March 27, 2022.

The jersey was designed by local artists Jacob Alexis and Richard Running Rabbit, and honours the children lost and survivors of Canada’s residential school system.

Here is Richard Running Rabbit joining the Windspeaker Radio Morning Show:

Every Child Matters game is part of a much larger movement of the same name, and is a recognition and commitment to action to ensure that all children know and experience their precious significance, including those who may have been lost (but never forgotten) while at Residential Schools in Canada, along with the adult survivors and their love ones who may still be healing from this experience.

The game is scheduled for Sunday March 27th at The Scotiabank Saddledome when the Calgary Hitmen take on the Swift Current Broncos. Get your tickets here

It will also be broadcast live on 88.1 CJWE, Alberta's Best Country, in the Blackfoot Language, with Butch Wolfleg, Vincent Yellow Old Women and Ethan Yellow Old Women, calling the action.
