RMWB offering residents Sandbags For Properties In Flood-Prone Areas

The materials will be available at Syne Park, in the parking lot next to the playground, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday

 

Starting on March 8, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo will be offering sand and bags for anyone living in Longboat Landing, Draper, Waterways, Ptarmigan Court, downtown, and Taiga Nova Eco-Industrial Park free of charge.

The Municipality is asking residents to take only what they need, and to bring your own shovel to make the sandbags.

If your need assistance, Information on how to properly fill and place the bags will be provided at the Snye.

The break up of the Athabasca River usually happens between mid and late April.
