The "bang" was caused by a meteor sonic boom.
People from the Leduc, New Sarepta and south Edmonton region reported seeing a flash in the sky and hearing a loud booming sound Tuesday night.
Some residents even felt there house shake from the noise:
A little while ago there was a big bang & the house shook. I ran out back because I was sure the neighbour had blown up! Nothing. Went out front. Nothing. I wasn't the only one but no one knows what happened. I hope everyone is okay.#MysteryBoom #Leduc

Later in the evening a porch camera from Kaitlyn Kostyniuk caught what looked to be a meteor in the sky, the bang could be from the sonic boom.
