Victim of suspicious death at Edmonton encampment identified

An autopsy has been completed, but the manner of death is pending, police said.

Edmonton police are searching for the unidentified source who reported the death of a man in an encampment last week.

An autopsy into the passing of 38 year old Joseph Ross Gladue was completed on December 2, but police are withholding the cause of death for “investigative reasons.”

EPS homicide detectives continue to investigate and are treating Gladue’s death as suspicious. He was found deceased in an encampment near the walking path and LRT tracks at 95 Street and 106 Avenue on November 27.

Detectives continue to seek out the man who first reported Gladue’s death to an encampment team. They believe he may have information that could assist the investigation, according to a news release issued Friday evening, Dec. 2.

Anyone with information about this suspicious death is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
