Saturday, Sept 24th, suspect Brenon Blake Grey was spotted armed riding a stolen quad.
Woodland Cree First Nation’s chief and council advised residents to stay home following reports that a suspect in a shooting two months ago was spotted in the Cadotte Lake area.
RCMP ordered people to stay in a safe place on Saturday when the suspect was allegedly seen armed and riding on a stolen quad.
Brenon Blake Grey is wanted on a warrant for the shooting of a 35-year-old man in his home on the First Nation in July.
The man was taken to hospital by helicopter in serious condition and later died from his injuries.
Although the shelter-in-place order has since been lifted by the RCMP, Woodland Cree chief and council chose to maintain it due to a heavy police presence in the area and the potentially armed suspect still on the loose.
The First Nation has asked residents to not approach the suspect if seen, and to report any details to the Peace River RCMP.
